Our Story

The idea for ZoneCastAI was born during Hurricane Ian in 2022. Our co-founder Marcus Reed, then a FEMA liaison officer, watched in frustration as millions of Floridians received county-wide alerts that couldn't tell them whether their specific neighborhood was in the storm surge zone or safely inland.

The technology to deliver precise, personalized emergency intelligence existed — it just hadn't been assembled into a platform civilians could access. Marcus partnered with Dr. Elena Vasquez, an AI researcher specializing in real-time NLP systems at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and David Park, a former Google infrastructure engineer, to build what FEMA couldn't: an AI layer on top of the national emergency alerting system that makes every alert actionable.

Today, ZoneCastAI protects 2.1 million users across all 50 states and holds partnerships with FEMA, DHS CISA, NOAA, and 22 state emergency management agencies.
